Paige was integral in helping me through the college process, helping me end up at a school which is truly the perfect fit for me. When I first met with Paige, I had no idea what I was looking for in a potential college. Only having done 3 college visits by the start of college application season, I felt very lost and overwhelmed by the sheer number of schools I was planning to apply to. Paige helped me narrow down my options by sharing her insights, theĀ feedback she received from students, and her own experience to make me feel confident in my college decisions.
Always being supportive of my passions, extracurriculars, and goals, Paige helped shape my application around me, rather than complete the “college-checklist” that students often find themselves ticking off. I was very true to myself during the entirety of the application process, something that Paige encouraged throughout the entire time I worked with her. While my public school college counselor told me that my summer internships and in school activities were lacking the “focused interest” that colleges look for, Paige supported me in my goals and ambitions, regardless of the fact that they were quite different than a typical Silicon Valley student’s. She never stressed that I do something just to strengthen my application, but rather, highlight what I love and show my true self.
Paige encouraged me to apply ED to Duke, a school which I was initially not even considering. If it weren’t for her, I do not think I would be at Duke right now. I am beyond thankful to have made my college decision with her guidance, because my school is truly ideal for me.
